A R Rahman proved once again why he
is a composer who stands apart in
the crowd. He was awarded two Oscar
awards, for Best Original Score and
Best Song in the movie. It was the
song ‘Jai Ho’ which won the much
acclaimed award and Rahman provided
a glimpse of his brilliance as he
performed it live at the Oscars. The
other award which he received was
for original score in the movie.

Google has finally released the full
version of Google Chrome browser and
yanked the ‘beta’ label off it.
Google Chrome 1.0 is available for
download and installation on
Windows.
Meanwhile, Google is reportedly
working for Chrome support on Mac
OSX and Linux platform.It may be
termed as an achievement for Google
engineers who managed to release the
first finished version in a span of
100 days even as its major product,
Gmail, is still in the beta stage.

Yahoo to replace Yang as CEO, ending
rocky reign
SAN FRANCISCO
(AP) -- Yahoo Inc. co-founder Jerry
Yang is stepping down as chief
executive, ending a rocky reign
marked by his refusal to sell the
Internet company to Microsoft Corp.
for $47.5 billion -- more than
triple Yahoo's current market value.

Google Abandons Deal with Yahoo
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — A day after
Google walked away from an
advertising partnership with
Yahoo ,
Eric E. Schmidt , the chief
executive of Google, said he
believed that the companies would
have been successful if they had
chosen to defend the deal in court.
Google chose to abandon the
controversial plan after the Justice
Department notified the companies
that it would file an antitrust suit
to block it.
“We canceled the deal with about one
hour to go before a lawsuit was
going to be filed against our deal,”
Mr. Schmidt said in an interview on
Thursday. “We concluded after a lot
of soul-searching that it was not in
our best interest to go through a
lengthy and costly trial which we
believe we ultimately would have
won.”

Google Launches New Browser - Chrome
Google Inc. is releasing its own Web
browser in a long-anticipated move
aimed at countering the dominance of
Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer
and ensuring easy access to its
market-leading search engine.
The long anticipated Google browser
is finally getting released. The
free browser, called "Chrome," is
supposed to be available for
downloading Tuesday in more than 100
countries for computers running on
Microsoft's Windows operating
system.
